[Live Webinars & Bundled Packages] April Events and 5 Retrogrades!

Posted on Updated on

My Dearest Flow-with-the-Universe Messengers of Love and Light,

April is upon us and so are 5 regtrogrades!  (Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter.)

The key’s in the ignition, the foot’s on the gas pedal and yet one force after another invites lingering, checking the mirrors, and shifting into reverse.

The combined influences encourage picking up loose ends and information (which will prove useful come summer) but still … we’re looking at the ground and behind us, more than scampering off into the future.

With Venus remaining retrograde through April 15, she’s still conjuring old flames, friends, projects and financial issues and inviting us to compare them to what our hearts truly desire. And with Mercury in retrograde, it will feel like time stops around April 9th.

And, according to astrologer Kathey Biehl:

“Lightning bolts shatter perceptions of yourself (perhaps self-imposed, perhaps adopted) during the Sun’s super-conjunction with Uranus April 12-14. Assimilation leads to your new normal and greater love of self on the 17th, when the Sun trines structure-loving Saturn and joins Neptune, lord of transcendence.”

(Click here to read more of her forecast for April!)

I just finished listening to an astrology reading I had done in April 2016, by the lovely Anne Ortelee. Turns out, I was born during a retrograde. And because of where my planets were during that momentous occasion, retrogrades actually work in my favor (whew!).

However, my spiritual starmap also indicated that for much of my early adult life I would be working through Karmic contracts and relationships, making up for all the relationships in which I was a bullheaded, “not-so-nice” man (which also happens to describe most of the men I’ve dated!).

For better or for worse, thanks to the retrograde, themes of love and rejection have carved a deep groove throughout my personal life, my professional life, and my aspirations for the future.

And so, perhaps not-so coincidentally,  the theme for this month of FIVE retrogrades is “Brain Basics in Relationships.”

For four years of my professional life as an art therapist, I had the privilege of being a research outcomes coordinator for the executive team, at the Amen Clinics Inc.

The Amen Clinics is an agency focused on using brain scans and SPECT technology to provide accurate diagnosis and integrative treatment for mental health problems, poor nutrition, and other obscure conditions. Dr. Amen has been a guest on CNN, PBS, Dr. Oz, Entertainment Television, Dr. Phil, The View, TedX, Rachel Ray, Larry King, and more. Currently, he has a show, Lying on the Psychiatrist’s Couch on PBS.*

Of all the amazing things I learned while working at the Amen Clinics, the content of this course probably changed my life the most!

It so deeply affected the way I saw myself and behaved in the context of relationships, with both men and women.

In a nutshell, this webinar is an introduction to the intersections between biology, interdependency, communication and mindfulness, in relationships. And we are offering it twice in the month of April.

For more details on Brain Basics in Relationships, you can check it out and register for FREE, below.

Concordantly, we also have two  LIVE Webinars on the Solar Plexus and the Heart Chakra.

You’ve probably noticed we’ve been going through all seven Chakras and their relevance to psychodynamic practice. If you are interested but feel like you want to catch up first:

Screen Shot 2017-04-02 at 9.44.01 PMIn this bundled course, we explore the Root and Sacral Chakras; the energetic vortices that are the most connected to our feelings of attachment, felt security, and emotional intelligence. From the development of these chakras we learn how to get our most basic needs met, maintain body integrity, and feel secure within ourselves. We learn how to name and organize our emotions, hold dualities, learn to play, and to be sensual and sexual.

And last but not least, I would like to share with you the LIVE Webinars planned for this month. Three out of four are FREE TO REGISTER, so I invite you to take advantage!

Healing the Solar Plexus

Mindfulness and Creative Arts Therapies

(1.5 Live event, continuing education contact hours for LCATs in New York State.)

In this course, we will explore mindfulness-based practices in treatment, using the Solar Plexus as a frame for understanding the impact of energetic imbalances in the body,

Specifically, we will debunk three commonly held beliefs:

  1. “If I just had more_______, then I could…” Whatever you have isn’t good enough.
  2. “I’m not the expert, I’ll let someone else take charge.” Someone else always knows better than you.
  3. “If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.” Being strong means you have to do everything on my own.

These myths and their concordant “truths” will be examined in the context of psychodynamic theory, as well as shamanistic approaches to energy healing.

Presenters: Briana MacWilliam ATR-BC, LCAT, and Kristen Boyer MPS, HC

Date/Time: April 5th, 2017 @ 8pm
