Mandala’s are circular forms often used in spiritual meditation practices. In sanskrit the word means, “world in harmony.” I was first introduced to mandalas in graduate school during my art therapy study. After a recent trip to India, I rediscovered my passion for them. Simultaneously, as my son grows older and begins to discover his inner artist, I find myself drawn to more childlike themes in my work, and a fondness for basic art materials such as crayons, markers, finger paints, and pencil.
