The following FAQs pertain to the variety of monthly webinars offered through my online school for continuing education for Licensed Creative Arts Therapists (LCATs), in New York State. CreativeArtsTherapiesOnline.com is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for Licensed Creative Arts Therapists. (#CAT-0014.)

In many cases, these webinars are also acceptable to the ATCB, and other national credentialing bodies for creative arts modalities. It is always advisable to contact your credentialing body directly, if you would like to know if an online event would be applicable to the renewal of your credential.

Do I have to pay for the webinar when I register?

It depends.

Some webinars are hosted as FREE and open to the public. However,  any LCAT in New York State who would like to receive continuing education contact hours for the presentation, will be invited to pay a fee of $35 and complete a course evaluation and learning assessment, in order to obtain a certificate of completion. This process will be completed online.

Other webinars may require a fee upon registration. The registration page will ALWAYS indicate  if payment is required or not.

Do I need a special software to join the webinar?

No. So long as you have pre-registered, on the day of the webinar, you will be sent an email reminder with a link to the presentation “room.” Once you click on the link, you will be sent to a “waiting area” until we start broadcasting.  You can join us on your desktop or your smart phone!

How will I complete the course evaluation and learning assessment?

The course evaluation and learning assessment will be completed online. Instructions will be given and demonstrated at the end of the webinar.

How will I receive the certificate of completion?

Once you complete the course evaluation and learning assessment, the certificate will be “triggered” and automatically sent to the email you used to enroll in CreativeArtsTherapiesOnline.com.

Are webinars live events or self-studies?

Webinars, when hosted LIVE, are counted as live events and are the same as attending an in-person workshop.

Live events are designated as such because they offer the opportunity for interaction and a Q&A session. Webinars allow for that through a “chat box” where you may type your questions, and view the questions of other attendees.

A recorded webinar replay may be offered as a self-study course. In this event, CreativeArtsTherapiesOnline.com always makes the distinctions clear on the course description page.

Is there anywhere I can go to see all the webinars scheduled?

Yes. We have a webinar calendar hosted on Briana MacWilliam’s website, here. As webinar registration links become available, they will also be posted here.
